TaylorMade has produced two outstanding drivers for the 2011 season in the TaylorMade R11 Driver and the Burner 2.0 Superfast driver. But if you happen to be in the market for a new driver and you’re looking at one of these two new models, how can you decide between them. They have both sold extremely well, are used by various professionals on tour and have received great praise from golfers who are using these clubs to improve their games. So which one do you choose? Although the choice is difficult, I’ve tried to break down the differences between them below to help you make the best choice for your game and needs.
Distance
If distance is your primary concern, then the TaylorMade R11 Driver the nod. It’s been designed with more distance in mind by lowering the weight to a staggering 279 grams, making it the lightest driver TaylorMade has ever produced. Thanks to the lighter weight, TaylorMade was able to add an extra inch on the driver when compared to the TaylorMade R11 Driver. This results in a greater club head speed at impact resulting in longer average drives.
Accuracy
In contrast to the Burner, the TaylorMade R11 Driver is designed to be customized to fit your golf swing, so with that in mind, the TaylorMade R11 Driver has to get the nod for accuracy. If you have a natural draw or fade, you can tune this club to make up for any inconsistencies in your swing to straighten out the trajectory.
Cool Factor
Both clubs have been designed with the black face and white crown combo, so right away both clubs have eye catching appeal. But the TaylorMade R11 Driver gets the nod in this category because of the adjustable nature of the club. Some of the technology like the moveable weight technology and the adjustable sole of the club may be a little gimmicky, but they are pretty fun to tinker with and see just what kind of a difference it makes when you tune the clubs to the various configurations.
Price
The price gap between these two clubs is not that big. On TaylorMade’s website, they have the TaylorMade R11 Driver priced at $399 and the TaylorMade R11 Driver of Cheap Golf Clubs Sets sites TP listed for $256. The Burner 2.0 Superfast is less expensive for both the regular edition and the tour preferred, which is $299 and $399 respectively. So if price consciousness is a primary concern, then Burner may be the Cheap Golf Clubs for you.
Overall
Both of the driver offerings from TaylorMade R11 Driver for the 2011 golf season seem to have exceeded expectations which is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that it seems like you can’t go wrong if you choose either of them, the curse being how do you make your decision. The major selling points between the two seems to be that the Burner is designed for the golfer who values distance over everything else and the TaylorMade R11 Driver is for the player that wants to be able to customize their ball flight. As always though, the bottom line will be which club feels best when you hit it. So get out to your local pro shop or golf store and test out both of these Cheap Golf Clubs to find the one that works best for you.
