have a sanyo dvd/vcr combo. When I got it from my brother I thought it was a combo with dvd recorder so I could put some of my vhs's on dvd but it isn't. The vhs side will record off tv but the dvd side is just a dvd player. It does not come with controller but it works fine without it. I just use my universal controller. It comes with the cord to plug into the wall but the ones to plug into the tv you need to have yourself. I used to have just a vcr and when I took that out I just used the same cords to plug this one in. The whole machine works great. I would prefer cash on pick-up . I live in the beaches near Greenwood and Gerrard
